May 5th World Midwives Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Midwifery Department of Fırat University, Faculty of Health Sciences.
In our country, April 21-28 is celebrated as National Midwifery Week every year, and May 5th is celebrated as International Midwifery Day. Midwifery is one of the oldest professions in history. Midwives are professionals who are responsible for providing the necessary care to mothers and newborns before, during and after birth. Therefore, they have key roles in achieving the ideal of women and newborns in particular, and healthy societies and healthy generations in general. The aim of midwifery education is to provide knowledge and skills for the protection and development of women, babies and children's health, and to train midwives with the desired qualifications.
The program, attended by Fırat University, Faculty of Health Sciences academic and administrative staff and midwifery department students, ended with a musical recital.
